Tarpa Tribes:
Tarpa Tribes is a unique fashion line initiative by the Shelter Foundation Trust, dedicated to empowering tribal women in India through employment opportunities. This project aims to uplift these communities and incorporate traditional tribal styles into modern fashion garments. By blending cultural heritage with contemporary design, Tarpa Tribes creates a distinctive collection that highlights the artistry of tribal craftsmanship while promoting sustainable livelihoods.
We launched Tarpa Tribes at the LA Fashion Week in collaboration with the LA Fashion Closet.
On May 21, LA Fashion Closet proudly presented Tarpa Tribes at Mode de Cannes at the iconic Carlton Cannes—a breathtaking showcase rooted in purpose and tradition.Tarpa is a non-profit initiative that empowers tribal women in Palghar, India. Each piece is handcrafted using sustainable materials, featuring Warli art, block printing, and traditional techniques.This powerful presentation was more than fashion—it was a celebration of culture, dignity, and women-led transformation.
